Risks of Personal Music Players
Caution Listeners
People who frequently listen to personal music players could be putting more than just their hearing at risk. Professor Peter Rabinowitz from Yale University School of Medicine says that use of these devices "has grown faster than our ability to assess their potential health consequences."
Some studies have shown that these devices can interfere with concentration and performance when driving. "Personal music players provide a reminder that our hunger for new technology should be accompanied by equally vigorous efforts to understand and manage health consequences of changing lifestyles," he concludes.
