When conceiving the new LP Aspire Bowl Shaped Djembe, LP designers looked to the resonating cavity responsible for the djembe’s low fundamentals and snapping high frequencies. The assumption was if this chamber is altered, the sound will focus. The assumption was correct. The special bowl shape on the new Aspire Djembe cuts errant overtones and focuses an increased range of fundamental pitches. What’s more, the open tones gain incredible sustain and projection, something highly desirable in a djembe. Created from kiln-dried, environmentally friendly Siam oak, the Aspire Bowl Shaped Djembe is 25 inches tall and is fitted with 12.5-inch handpicked goatskin heads. The rims are EZ Curve to minimize hand-to-rim trauma, while mechanical tuning is simple, smooth, and flawless.
