Harmonica Players Blow Record Away
It’s official! Guinness World Records recently verified that the record for “Most Harmonicas Played at Once” was broken at a September 19, 2006 Charleston RiverDogs baseball game. During the seventh-inning stretch more than 3,000 fans people participated in a harmonica jam. Appropriately, they played “Take Me Out to the Ball Game.”
The world record attempt was organized by music supplier Musicorp. “Listening to thousands of people working together to play music was incredible,” says Dan Mahoney, president of Musicorp. As part of his duties as “General Manger for the Day,” Mahoney distributed harmonicas to fans and spoke during the sports radio commentary about the importance of making music.
